Our Motorcycle Diaries

You do know what an adventure is, don't you?.....A disaster that you survived to tell about ;)

"Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover."

Day 11, and Day 12

October 18th: Eagle Pass Texas to Monclova, Mexico
October 19th: Monclova, Mexico to Saltillo, Mexico

Second try! Our room this evening comes with an hour of free Internet, but the connection drops about every two minutes, and when it is working it takes 10 minutes to download one page. As such, I lost my previous posting, so this will be a shorter posting than intended. Mexico has been great so far. Very nice weather (hot!) and everyone has been extremely friendly. Today a lady stopped today to not only give us directions, but she went so far as to tell us to follow her, and she'd drive to the street we were looking for. It was so great of her to help us out and I was very appreciative of the gesture. It's chaotic driving here!! Most of the time the roads have no lines to seperate lines, and almost everyone drives just about wherever they feel like. A pause or a slight hestitation are grounds for honking or just about pushing cars off the road!! The drive from Monclova to Saltillo today was absolutely amazing. There was little else on the road aside from a tiny village here and there, a road crew mowing what little grows in the dessert, or an old man on a horse rounding up some goats.
